We dig fresh our plants and ship immediately. We ship US Mail, Priority shipping. You will receive a tracking number once your plants ship. All plants will be fine in their packages for up to 3 days after receiving.
We sell only bare root plants. We dip the roots in tera-sorb silicone gel to retain ample moisture for transit and surround with plastic. This is superior protection for plants in transit for up to 12 days.
Open your plants and inspect the same day received. We offer 3 days to report any problems with your order. Bare root plants need to be planted within 2-3 days of receiving unless weather-related problems prohibit planting. Store in a cool place and keep roots moist and covered with plastic until they can be planted. Water for the first week daily after planting.
This unique plant comes from the Mediterranean and contrasts in color and perfume. The Bearded Iris has been cultivated to include various colors, including white. This Iris has large blooms growing to be as much as 3 feet above the leaves with its tall stature.
The leaves of bearded Iris are dark green with a grayish-white to silvery sheen, growing upright on long stems in loose, earthy, patchy clumps. The flowers themselves are impressive and remarkable in the garden, including up to 42 stamens per spike at the bloom. Almost all the flowers in the early spring appear in clusters found along the stems, fading by midsummer then returning with fall's changing colors. The showiest variety of this fantastic flower belongs to dwarf purple-blue. Its tall fragrant blooms are among the loveliest of all irises. Bearded Iris comes in a wide variety of colors, sizes, and foliage types, making them useful in all areas of landscape gardening.
