This beautiful tree is an ideal addition to any garden. Often used as an ornamental tree, they grow well in urban and rural environments. They need little maintenance and are commonly used along streets and boulevards. They reach an average height of 66ft, although they have been recorded reaching heights of 115 ft.

The flowers in the spring are a unique characteristic among trees that it shares with only the Red Maple. This tree is highly adaptable but needs lots of sunlight to grow. They are often found in wet environments such as along river banks or wetlands, which has earned them the nickname Water Maple. Gentle breezes will produce a lovely accent color for any garden as its silver undersides are exposed.

In autumn, you can expect this tree to pay pale yellow leaves, although it has been known to produce bright yellow, orange, and red leaves that generally characterize the trees. These trees welcome a variety of wildlife, bringing squirrels and many species of birds, including owls and woodpeckers, into your garden.

Their leaves are food sources for the beautiful Rosy Maple Moth. With these gorgeous trees, your garden will be full of life and color year-round. Those who want a tree that will provide abundant shade in a few short years will want to consider the silver maple. The beauty of this tree adds to its landscaping desirability.

When the wind rustles the tree leaves, the underside of this tree's leaves shimmer a brilliant silver, giving the tree its name. As the tree ages, its bark also takes on a silvery tinge. When autumn arrives, the leaves turn a bright yellow.
