Bishops Weed 3 For $11.99 Description

Bishops Weed

Bishops Weed or Aegopodium podagraria, known botanically, is also called Ground Elder. Bishops Weed is a flowering plant in the carrot family, Apiaceae.

Other names for Bishops Weed are Herb Gerard, Snow on the Mountain, Goutweed, Gout wort, English Masterwort, and Wild Masterwort. Native to Europe and Asia, Bishops Weed is an ornamental plant used as a substantial ground cover in home gardens in the United States.

Bishops weed care and maintenance

Bishops Weed is a deciduous ground cover with shallow roots that thrives in full or partial shade, providing a lush, uniform appearance to garden spaces that need fillers. Bishops Weed tolerates any soil as long as it is well-drained and needs full or partial shade, especially in regions with sweltering summers. Bishops Weed plants spread through brittle underground rhizomes, so digging up unwanted plants causes them to spread quickly due to broken bits of rhizomes forming new plants. A consideration for reducing the spread of Bishops Weed is to install an edging around the bed under the soil to contain the plants.

Bishop's Weed plants bear small white flowers in the spring and summer. Bearing light green foliage edged in a cream color, showcase the airy panicles of white blooms that enhance the vegetation in summer. To create the best-looking foliage, plant your Bishop Weed in partial sun to ensure the plant gets enough light to have lovely variegation. The partial sun also keeps this plant's leaves from burning. When your Bishops Weed appears ragged, you can mow it back to encourage new growth. This plant grows best when watered during drought.

You can also remove Bishop Weed seed heads after blooming, which controls spreading. Bishops Weed is pest and disease free. Bishops Weed is best planted away from other flowers and plants so as not to take them over.  This plant will give you years of lush green appeal as an easy-to-plant and maintain ground cover for your home garden landscape. Make Bishops Weed a top choice for your garden landscape.

Bishops Weed is now for sale at TN Nursery at low prices with fast shipping.
